Last week I fancied some leaf turning and paid my first visit of the year to the above.
What a pleasant surprise in the glass house while dodging showers.
This doesn't look like it is split every year.
No label though.[attach=1]

Hello glynnffc (bit of a mouthful this ;D),
they look nice in a big clump. I would suggest Pleione formosana.

Thanks Maren,
I thought it would be formosana. There were two pans absolutely full.

P.S.The Rhododendrons were good too.

Ah! You spotted my Pleiones! :) The large panful was given to me by a lady in Oban as it had grown too large for her conservatory. I had assumed that it was probably P. formosana but wasn't completely sure, so thanks for confirming that - I shall get some labels out! I had meant to split it and return a piece to the donor - when would you suggest that I do this?
The smaller bowlful was given to me by a friend who had grown it outside in his garden on the Isle of Skye for many years. Once I get these plants split I shall put some of them outside here too.
Many thanks,

Maurice,
I really enjoyed the Pleione and the rest of the greenhouse.
I have very few Pleione, but I would wait until the plants have lost their leaves in autumn before splitting the pans, .
I am sure that if you search the forum you will find plenty of detailed advice. I will look forward to seeing some "wild" pleione on my future visits.
Can I just add that the display of N.cyclamineus ,if that's what they were, in the lawns was stunning.

Hello Maurice, welcome to the Forum.
Sorry for the delay in saying "hello" - I've been away meeting up with Forumists from around the world at the Czech RG Conference :)
