I've lost/dumped/misplaced the catalogue for the company I get my labels from.
Anyone got a source for these labels?

Here you go.... your previous post, with the Essentials Company link!

I don't have those one but I have these ones
http://www.wellsandwinter.co.uk/product.asp?prodID=86 (http://www.wellsandwinter.co.uk/product.asp?prodID=86)
and use the brother TZE laminated tape and have them out in the garden for over 10 years and they are not showing any signs of deterioration from the UV.

I'm making my own black labels by cutting up 8 inch pots. Doesn't take long and they work well for me.

I like it!

Very useful links and I do like the idea of the black labels. On a slightly different tangent ( I hope this is allowed!) but still sundry related, does anyone know of a good source of super sharp thin nosed snipping scissors

Homebase and B&Q - couple of £

Lawrence - I use satsuki bonsai sissors - stainless steel - made in the US by Joshua Roth - made for a lifetime and some
Any stainless steel bonsai shears/sissors will be razor sharp
-
Scissors such as those made for fly-tying etc, will be dainty and have sharp, narrow points - just the thing for snipping off dead leaves or tiny cuttings, I reckon.
An example : http://www.sportfish.co.uk/sportfish-gold-loop-extra-fine-tip-scissors.html?gclid=CNTfgLb-xMcCFRGeGwodlcsFLQ (http://www.sportfish.co.uk/sportfish-gold-loop-extra-fine-tip-scissors.html?gclid=CNTfgLb-xMcCFRGeGwodlcsFLQ)

I bought some of those angled black labels. Their legs are quite/too short

they are quite chunky lables and good quality - orange label - blue pen - looks almost 3D...........
-
Blue paint pen or other?
Jamus if I give you a list will you write my labels?
-
What do you use to write on white labels?

Mark
my label kit is below
cheap carry case which was £5 when a local discount store opened
packs of Wilko labels - which were 1p each when they were getting rid of them last year - I have a massive box of them - I must throw some of the pencils away..............
black - red - blue pens are decocolor - these are fantastic paint pens - but don't press on - its a glide across the surface
[attach=1][attach=2][attach=3]
the hozelock spares were 20p as I always end up after winter with some of the little rubber rings on hose fittings perishing
we have a TEC thermal lable printer as well but I quite like writing lables.........

Try edding 8404 Aerospace Marker Pen.
-
Soft pencils are cheaper and last longer than the labels for me.
-
I use a 6B pencil on most tags. I keep some very fine wet and dry sandpaper for cleaning labels and taking the gloss off them if they are shiny. The pencil even stands out on black labels and will out last paint. Why do you want me to write your labels Mark???

Have you seen Mark's handwriting?

;D ;D Oddly enough, Mark's handwriting on an envelope is much neater than his labels! I assumed Mark wanted Jamus' neat writing on his labels - I know that thought crossed my mind when I think of how awful our labels are, whether it's the BD or myself who does them! :-[
