While tidying just now I found a bag of Crocus lavaegatus Fortenayi bought from Paul Christian about a month or more ago. I know you are now saying stupid on two counts.
I can see they are not Crocus. Are they Colchicums or Tulips? Time will tell.

Oh Mark
I can see they ARE crocus. Crocus laevigatus in fact :) so hopefully exactly what you ordered. They should still be OK although although planting this late may effect flower quality this season. Crocus laevigatus has a very distinct corm tunic, eggshell-like and the corm shape is also characteristic.

Thanks Tony. It's the basal plate and overall shape that threw me

6 weeks have passed and ... here they are.
Although they are on my south facing display table at the front of the house they are turned very badly towards the sun

They look good Mark !!
They seem to have rewarded you for your neglect.... ;D

They're a bit skinny so I'll have to beef 'em up for 2009

Am glad your tale had a happy ending.
