Hosta with white seed pods
« on: March 12, 2013, 09:04:42 AM »
I have an un-named Hosta cultivar with leaves being a creamy/white centre with dark green margin , quite thick leathery leaves approx. 200mm x 150mm size. Several plump seed pods are forming and are all a cream white colour and I would like to know whether viable seeds are likely from this plant which has been open pollinated. It seems to be reasonably sun tolerant in our recent hot weather having 30 degrees C  every day for the past 10 days here in Deloraine , Tasmania Gordon Julian

Surely the only right answer here is "Sow them and See." If the pods continue to mature and open to what seems to be good seed, sow them and wait. Time will tell.
