We were all very sad to hear of the death in April  of Jeff Irons - such people are a sad loss to the club. We heard recently from one of his sons.
Nice to have a plant to remember him by - not that this helps you with a name - I think we might need Tim Ingram for this one....... ???

Palustris, are you sure it isn't an Acaena? A. cylindrostachya for instance?

Thanks for your note Maggi - Eric, your plant is Oreomyrrhis argentea. It's a little Australian umbel - I've always found it short-lived but easy from seed. Several species grow in the Kosciusko Mtns. It must be one of the most beautiful foliage plants in the family, except for Anisotome imbricata (if you are just alpine orientated).

Thank you Tim - I knew you were the man for the job!

By the way, any tips for the availability of your 1993 Umbellifer book?

Thank-you. As soon as I read the name I remembered what it is. Self seeds in the Alpine house and keeps going nicely.
Jeff used to pass on many of his Australasian imports to us as a test of hardiness. They survived in his Wirral garden, but sadly all of them failed miserably here where we are a lot, lot colder.
