Big surprise:Tulbaghia violacea ssp. macmasteri is flowering
« on: March 20, 2014, 10:17:12 AM »
Hi all ,

to my big surprise is here flowering a new descriptet Tulbaghia species :
Tulbaghia violacea subsp. macmasteri
After a long time of search for seeds I have bought in last year a portion of these ...I have sown it on 12.05.2013
In winter I have it grown here in my room ( with artifical light and a heating ) ...before some days I saw to my big surprise first open flowers ...thats really quick  ( maybe a result of the light ? )
Thats a very small Tulbaghia ...the pot is 9 x 9 cm ( and my thumb nail is 1,5cm )
This plant was descript from Vosa in year 2009 in Herbertia 63 ....

Enjoy

That was quick Hans, it's a lovely little thing. You must have a very nice collection of Tulbaghia now.

That is quick. Quite different from the normal form. I got seeds January 2013 and sowed them in a pot in the garden. Flowers are just about open. I had several attempts with Forum seed but got Alliums every time.
