Cypripedium debile
« on: June 27, 2013, 08:26:24 PM »
Dear friends,

Cypripedium debile is joining the crew and is in the post.

I was doing some reading and apparently C. debile likes slightly acidid compost rather than slightly alkaline. See for example: http://botanyboy.org/a-truly-dwarf-slipper-orchid-from-japan-cypripedium-debile/

In what kind of compost and under what conditions do you grow it?

Best

From what I have been told by some US growers of Chinese Cypripedium you should be very careful watering. The plants do not like water on the leaves at all.

Here we use pine bark for the acidity and mulch with pine needles. The other part of the mix is usually lavarock, perlite, and sand.
