RHS Vincent Square show today 22/10/2013
« on: October 22, 2013, 06:52:43 PM »
Those of you who wonder about the direction the RHS is taking, may like to see the Vincent Square Old hall today.
You can see the RHS website here http://www.rhs.org.uk/
My photos
A and B from the cafe balcony
C and D from the floor
The items suspended slowly went up and down on the winches, presumably computer controlled, and consisted of various stone block, concrete rubble, apple tree, rock, melting ice block, apparently melting chain etc. There was digital projections in the annex where you entered top left in A (with audio) and as you left from the hall side entrance. As I took the photo B someone alongside said no-one will believe you unless you take it. There was a presentation planned for later in the day to explain it all. I did not stay on.
The other New hall was more or less as normal.

it's recycling material from Chelsea Show - which is, I suppose, better than placing the stuff in landfill.
Yemen, what a country ... Haraz mountains, Socotra, Sana'a, Hadramaut, the empty quarter.... a country of stunning, mind altering beauty...and the friendliest of people.

I'm a great believer in recycling - just not sure how dangling stuff  from the ceiling qualifies!
