Charity Event in Larbert 15th March 2014
« on: March 10, 2014, 11:56:00 AM »
News of forthcoming Event at Torwood Garden Centre, Bellsdyke Road, Larbert.

On Saturday 15th March from 2pm to 5pm, Jim McColl MBE, Gardening Expert and long-serving Presenter of the BBC series ''The Beechgrove Garden'', will conduct a session of gardening Questions & Answers to a seated audience in the Blossoms Coffee Shop/bistro at Torwood Garden Centre, Larbert. Visitors who have a query about any of their indoor and/or outdoor plants can bring some small samples in a sealed polythene bag to show to Jim.  Admission free.

At 2pm prompt Jim McColl will also present two cheques, each to the the value of £1,000, to a representative from both Strathcarron Hospice and MacMillan Cancer Support.  This is for further funds raised for the charities from paintings sold at the ''Ongoing'' charity exhibition of paintings on display in Blossoms Coffee Shop/bistro which is being staged by Local Artists who are all members of Central Arts Association.

This ''Ongoing'' charity exhibition of paintings was first set up in Blossoms, by the members of Central Arts, on the 1st of December 2010 and the Stevenson family, the owners of Torwood Garden Centre, are very generously donating their full charge of 20% commission on the sale of each painting to both charities.  To date over £4,000 has been raised for the charities.

Jim McColl has very kindly agreed to stage this 3 hour session of gardening Questions & Answers as a means of increasing public awareness about our charity exhibition.

I look forward to hearing from you and would be interested to know if any of your members are likely to attend this gardening Questions & Answers event.

sincerely,
Margaret MacGregor
