Seedlings of wild Iris lutescens blue sky flower
« on: January 26, 2014, 11:42:52 AM »
These are my seedlings of wild Iris lutescens blue sky flower. They were born just only three months ago! I'm very surprised. I have 13 seedlings and all great. In my region from Germany, we have had months of November, December and January abnormally hot. Until today we have not seen snow ..

What color pattern will have the flowers? On the site there is the mother plant grew Iris lutescens white, blue, purple, ... Maybe the mother plant is an hybrid blue x white flowers? I don't know ... Any idea?

The first two pictures are the seedlings and the last two, the mother plant.

A beautiful iris Khalid, and fine sturdy seedlings 8)
At the rate they're growing you should have first flowers in a year or two.  As you say, it will be very interesting to see the range of variation.

It is a really beautiful mother plant Khalid. I like to hear of more Iris growers who enjoy the species, rather than just the big, flashy modern hybrids.  :) Show us the seedlings as they flower please.

Khalid what a lovely lutescens. It will be interesting to see what colours you get on your seedlings.
