In the UK Queen's Birthday Honours List today - a CBE for Roy Lancaster (OBE ), Gardener and Broadcaster, 'for services to horticulture and charity'.
For 'services to British Gardening' an MBE to Penelope Hobhouse, Writer and Gardener.
Many Congratulations to them both on being awarded this distinction.
I must put my cards on the table and admit that I am one of those folks who might well support a campaign for sainthood for Roy Lancaster, a great plantsmen and a charming gentleman !
As far as I can gather, there are just two honours to horticulturists in the list.
