in my bulb frame are 52°

Alan Meerow was trying to tell me that harrisonii is the same as breviflorum.  If I could get some seeds of breviflorum, I might be able to see if he is right.  I have something that might be breviflorum, but it came labeled as santacatarina, which it definitely is not.
First, my "breviflorum"

We have had a few more Hippeastrum blooming this summer.

The first is Hippeastrum sp. ex Taipas, Brazil.  This is a dwarf species, the flowers being less than 3 inches across the face.

Hippeastrum mandonii

This one came from Fred Meyers' Bolivia Expedition many years ago.  The flower is sometimes self-fertile, so I occasionally get seeds from it.   It is blooming right now.

today I had a nice surprise - first flower is open from my self grown Hippeastrum spec. Cardoso Moreira  :D
( seeds sown 04.11.2009 ) but it was worth this long waiting time
It is a small plant ( the stem is 28 cm high ) the flower has a diameter of 3,0 cm
It is for me a strange plant ...like a mix between a Hippeastrum and a Eithea ..

Enjoy
