What a happy sight. You've made me smile on a grey Hebridean day, Anne. Thanks.

The photo is from last year, they are not all open yet. I look forward to that bed every winter.

I took the liberty of sharing Anne's photo on Twitter, where it hasbeen much admired - no wonder- just the thing to cheer anyone, I reckon!

a question:
If anyone has Compton Court to give away so I would like to try it again - I grow this plant earlier but in this terrible winter of 2012/2013 I have lost this.
I have also S.Arnott but that does not grow very well for me ... maybe Compton Court is really better?
Certainly I find a good swap offer - I'd like 2 -3 Comton Court
Please send me a PM

Now that the flowers have been out two weeks or more I plan to redo the photos. This time I will select the tallest and largest flower from each group. I'll also take an inner from each flower for a side by side photo

Hans, here they are in my garden, photographed yesterday. Their passports are ready and they will travel to Germany when you say so.

Compton Court is 1 or 2 weeks earlier then S Arnott and grows a lot better then S Arnott too. Besides that it  does never show any infection by Stag like S Arnoot does!
