« on: April 09, 2015, 06:19:28 AM »
I'd like to read Gao's latest paper on Lilium, but cannot find a full-text copy online... If anyone is able to download it, please drop me a PM or email ( seeds@trillium.no ).

Email away. Think that Journal should be open access.

Thank you, Alan!

Neil, did you try to register? The icon next to the article said subscription only, and the subscription page wanted $1400 per year, so I admit I never even bothered trying...  :-X

I think that one must register, even to gain access to the "open" publications. I registered and gained access to the article.

Weird, here in the US I registered as an author and do not get access to papers unless they are open access....... I wonder if it must vary by country.

That explains why I saw the same exorbitant charge, I'm using a VPN, so the web page thinks I'm in California... (China blocks anything Google, Facebook etc., so a VPN is essential.)

My understanding is  that registration as an Author  simply allows you to be able to submit papers. It seems that registration is required  to access even the "open" documents and apart from those payment is required as an individual or for an institution to access  the rest. I don't think there is a difference by country.

I have no problem getting the open access papers, signed in or not. I know the university does not purchase access to this journal so even if I am on campus or not I cannot get non-open access papers. I registered for regular access a long time ago, before I published with them, and still could not access a paper I wanted. I think the access must vary by country. Some journals/publishers give free access depending on location, but I don't know if this publisher does.

Gao has another paper out, same journal. I've tried registering using a VPN that locates me in the Netherlands, but I still get the subscription page when trying to read the paper... Can anyone grab it for me? I'm not sure I agree with his lumping of L. xanthellum into L. stewartianum.

Thank you, Neil, very much appreciated! I haven't tried ResearchGate, I'll sign up and see if it works for future papers.
