Andalucia in February
« on: April 05, 2015, 05:29:52 PM »
Dear all,

In February this year I spend 9 days traveling trough Andalusia (18/3-27/3) with my wife.
We drove around 1000km and had our accommodation in three places (Benaocaz, Ronda and Marbella).
Our main goal was to find various Narcissus, and we did, next to some other plants of course.
The weather was just perfect and all the species I wanted to see showed their lovely flowers.
Some of the images I made can be viewed on my website  here: http://www.jansalpines.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=50598

To wet your appetite here a few samples.
-Iris planifolia
-Narcissus pannizianus
-Narcissus cordubensis
-Narcissus cantabricus
-Famous bridge at Ronda

Cheers, Harry

Marvelous trip, Harry. It seems that John and Sheila Richards were in the south of Spain from March 16th-25th and John has written about that visit in his diary on the AGS site -
Some Andalucian Narcissi. Entry 293.
and
More spring flowers from Andalucia. Entry 294.
