Eranthis

Last night Henrik Zetterlund spoke on Corydalis at the VIRAGS meeting.
(Vancouver Island Rock and Alpine Garden Society).

Included in the raffle was a double eranthis that came from Göteborg to
Victoria via Seattle.

I won it.  It is looking a bit sad in the photo as it was dug up yesterday
and put in a plastic bag. 

It looks as though it could set seeds.

It was grown at Göteborg from seeds from a Dane.

Despite its present poor condition this is the best way to get an eranthis. I have planted large numbers of the dried tubers of eranthis over the years and never saw a plant grow from them. They certainly are a plant to move in the green.

Very interesting double.

Congratulations!!  At least it went to someone who'll really appreciate it.  Good luck with the seed, and here's hoping that you're lucky enough to get double seedlings as well!!  Well done!!
