Corrugated plastic?

I have a thin strip of land adjacent to the house where I am thinking of building a " lean to" , complete with Two West & Elliot's plunge staging, to help house my ever increasing collection. What do forumists think about the use of corrugated plastic sheeting, does it allow sufficient light for normal growth ?

I've never seen corrugated plastic sheeting which is completely clear - it always seems to be somewhat  translucent.  I'd think that polycarbonate double-wall sheets would be both stronger and allow more light through.  I asked my boss the BD if he agreed and he does.

Some corrugated plastic sheets go brittle after a few years. As Maggie says the double polycarbonate ones are stronger, maybe available as off cuts from builders?

I used this for many years as winter cover over a long cold frame on the north side of my then greenhouse. It was removed in summer completely so perfect transparency did not matter when things were not in in growth. Depends a lot on what you are putting in the frame. It lasted well over 20 years. Its main perpose was to keep the winter rains etc. off the dormant pots.

You can get clear corrugated PVC sheeting, make sure you get one that is guaranteed for 10 years.
