I'm enjoying your very practical and experienced erythronium articles, Ian
There are some colour variations in Erythronium japonicum in natural habitat like as dense-canis.
Here you can see some white E. japonicum variations with or without blotches, and pollen colours.

Many, many thanks for posting this wonderful world of Erythronium japonicum.
Our bluebell woods look lovely, but thr flowers can be a weed in the garden. Erythronium japonicum and most Erythronium can never be weeds,
