The morning after I planted 300 anemone blanda the lawn was full of holes where a squirrel had dug them up again. If I'd known I was being watched I would have left them on the grass in their paper bag for him to eat and saved myself all that work! Last year I tried some in pots in a mesh covered cold frame but still didn't have much success. The only thing that works for me is to buy them in flower and plant them straight away, although it is much more expensive that way.
