Repotted my Geranium maderense plants for the second time since 1st June, when they were potted on into 4" pots. On the 1st July they went into 6" pots, and the first pic shows the root system today, when they were put into 10" pots.

wow. With that growth rate they must flower next year.

2006 is the last time I had them which is too long

Next year? I'm hoping this summer! Seeds sprouted in April, and the plants have been growing all winter.

This is too easy!  :)

Geranium 'Sandrine'. A lovely semi-scrambling hybrid growing from a central rootstock. Dies back to almost nothing every winter but always makes a magnificent display. This is one plant.

G. palmatum, now well past its best. I like this the best of the Atlantic herb roberts - it's pretty hardy for me (so no fiddling about with pots) and although short-lived, reliably self-seeds. Flowers are a similar size to G. maderense, though it has to be said it does not quite have the wow factor of the latter. Still, a very underrated plant.

G. 'Joy'. Another very good hybrid that comes from a central rootstock.

I think this is 'Russell Prichard'. Not sure though as I inherited it when I bought the house 15 years or so ago. Either way it's a nice cranesbill.

Erodium kolbianum 'Natasha'

Erodium chrysanthum. Not flowering, but I like the leaf! I find the plants get a bit senile after 3-4 years and are then prone to rotting off, so they need regular propagation.

This is actually a question: I acquired a plant of Geranium x lindavicum 'Gipsy' a couple of years ago, it has been lovely in a trough & I'd like to propagate it, it has a number of crowns now ~ any recommendations as to best way to take cuttings? It seems to set the occasional seed, must be from selfing as I don't have any other geraniums of this type in the garden...

Six months on from seeds sprouting, my Maderan cranesbills are coming along apace. 60cm spread now, still in their 10" pots.

The lovely Pelargonium barklyi is in flower now, although the leaves are attractive enough in their own right. A kind gift from Ashley.
