Have just seen pictures on the news of flooding in Aboyne, which is about 30 miles upstream on the River Dee from Aberdeen. All the affected buildings shown were new - methinks there might be a clue to be had there. Of course there are some ghastly floods doing the most awful damage in some places - but the granting of permission to build in flood plains can't help.

Of course there are some ghastly floods doing the most awful damage in some places - but the granting of permission to build in flood plains can't help.
It will be very difficult to repair it I expect - and cause a lot of local problems - it's not as though Braemar has many roads going to and from it. Not a lot of room to put the road further from the river - but it may be the only way to effect the repair.
