A June Jaunt

So here is the place today. See the Heath Robinson attempt to stop the badger climbing the gate. Still not up to taking shots of the damage which it has done to the top end of the garden over the last month or so. 1500 tulips eaten and stuff dug out to get at them. Now it seems to be targetting the used to be called Schizanthus. We have fenced all the perimeter now, so hopefully it cannot easily get in. Wishful thinking.........

This matter refers back to a recent post  in the "Wildlife" thread ....

May be nice having lots of wild life around, but the badgers have eaten over 1200 tulip bulbs over the last few weeks and in digging them up they have totally destroyed all the plants and shrubs in one bed. Now that there are no bulbs left in there, I expect they will move on and destroy more of the garden.

Don't get me started about badgers! Nasty destructive creatures, and they cost the dairy industry a fortune each year due to TB, not to mention the distress to the poor farmers. Can't understand why people get so emotional about protecting them.
