Finally some autumn crocus are starting in our garden:
Crocus niveus in the morning and then in the afternoon!
Crocus asturicus (now C. serotinus salzmannii) which we got in 2002 and I'm afraid may have the dreaded "v"

niveus is beautiful Fermi, did you raise them from seed? If so how many years from germination to flowering?

Hi Jamus,
No this one came from Marcus as flowering size corms - we have another clone from Vogelvry, I think, which is also in flower now. I haven't raised any of its seeds as it only sets a few and they are usually given away. The second clone is slightly creamy but this one can have a light mauve cast to it at times,

It start to bloom 4 years after sawing.

Crocus laevigatus raised from wild collected seed (Karystos, Evia in Greece - 50m) from Marcus Harvey (I sowed these in 2013).

While I know there can be a lot of variation in the flowers I'm surprised that there also seems to be variation in when the flowers will open. Both of these flowers are next to one another on an overcast day. Maybe the deeper feathering is reducing the warmth? The photos were taken today - the temperature is 16.7 degrees C.

Crocus laevigatus, from Marcus Harvey seed sown in April 2014 and C. hyemalis, Oron Peri seed sown September 2014. It was 17ºC at lunch time today.
