Lesley I loved your article you wrote for our Alpine Garden Soc. Victorian Group journal, as I remember when we came to visit you, you had so many troughs at that time and they were full of treasures especially Campanula Maie Blyth. It was in flower and I had never seen it before, so we imported plants from you and now we have a couple of plants in Australia but it is not strong, as it struggles with our heat. Thank you for a lovely read on a dreary winters day.

Thanks for this Viv. Helen is going to send me a copy so I can see what it's like in print. It hasn't arrived yet but I'm looking forward to it. I'm pleased you enjoyed it.  Camp.'Maie Blyth' is one of my favourites as it makes such a lovely cushion shape. The trough I have it in is quite shaded by a crab-apple tree through the summer which I think helps but I know we here in the south of NZ don't get anything like your heat. My worst problem with it is rabbits which chomp down to ground level on the larger plant I have in a raised bed (not raised enough!) so I have to keep it permanently under a wire basket. I do cuttings in the spring from new growth as it emerges. Often they already have a bit of root on them.

You may be lucky ;) I checked this morning and am hopeful that seed is setting :)
Today there were a few new flowers out:
Lapeirousia oreogena
Galanthus (possibly) woronowii
Narcissus 'Ianmon'
