Found these while digging up some rough grass in the garden. Anyone know what they are?

Thank you, Carolyn you must the right. Google says that bluebell bulbs have no skin and can be funny shapes.
There are bluebells not that far away and so it all fits.

I think they are funny shapes because the young bulbs are taking themselves deeper in the soil. If you have ever tried to dig out a mature clump, you will know that they go deep.

Margaret - As Carolyn says they are indeed bluebells. Here's a potful about to be transplanted a year or so ago.
johnw - +17.4c, 98% humidity.
