Calceolaria ID please
« on: August 04, 2016, 07:21:46 PM »
Please will someone ID this calceolaria. Is it C. integrifolia? Rather a pathetic flower but it is a small plant which had got squashed on the bench
Thank you

I'm no Calceolaria specialist but I think this is the common C. biflora. Friends collected seeds for me last year in a trip to Patagonia and took pictures so I can positively ID the species.

Thank you Gabriela. Makes sense as it turned up in one of our plant sales and on the whole we don't get given rarities!

For us this one is enough of a rarity to have it growing in the garden ;) I have three plants but they are done flowering; most probably will behave like an annual, luckily so easy to grow from seeds.
