It is worth bearing in mind that online searches - either using one of the big search engines like google  or  direct links on sites such as www.youtube.com or https://vimeo.com/ can bring up a huge range of possibilities -  direct your search in different ways, searching say for -   Rock Gardens - or  - Trough making to be presented with a  great range of  videos. Amusingly, in a trough  making or lightweight trough or   trough search  many videos will be found from around the world - many using the SRGC methods!

In the Czech magazine 'Zahrada' there is a section 'SKALNIČKOVÁ ZAHRADA' (rock gardens).

Beautiful rock gardens for inspiration.

You're right, Ross, everyone does it his way. More or less successful. But of course there are various mixes for different plants. Draining, richer, poorer, acidic, calcareous, etc.
