the most beautiful botanical garden in europe
« on: August 29, 2018, 09:18:52 PM »
hello everyone!
I am planning a few weeks trip in Europe in spring. Mostly I would like to visit the most beautiful botanical gardens and see how nature is coming alive. I am living in UK so I saw gardens in this country and also a few in Vienna when I visited my family. If you could recommend other beautiful places I would be grateful!

Hallo Rocky, I can recomment You the Botanical Gardens of Berlin, where this weekend is a great trademarket with perennial plants and bulbs. In summer also I visited the Botanical Garden of Akureyri/Iceland and was surprised about the many flowers (see foto)!

I don't know which plants you are particularly interested in...But if you are enthusiastic about Alpine, I can recommend the following botanical gardens in Germany.

Old botanical garden in Marburg (very nice old town)

Botanical Garden in Jena (a visit to the world's oldest planetarium is also worthwhile)

Botanical Garden in Berlin (very large and interesting)

Have a good trip
Thomas

Two of the best Botanical Gardens  are those at Tromso in North Norway and  Gothenburg, in Sweden if you find yourself in that direction!  Also Linnaean Garden in Upsalla.

In Belgium and Holland there are  several good gardens. The rock gardens at Utrecht Botanical Gardens are  quite something!

Maggi has mentioned Gothenburg which we enjoyed but Copenhagen is also worth seeing and nobody seems to talk about that one.
