Thank you, Luit, it is my pleasure.

I have just got this note from Alan Gardner, about the plant I have been calling Cypripedium froschii..... Alan says " I have been reading the the blog on the Rock Garden site about last Saturdays Perth Show. All  the pictures show a yellow Cypripedium shown by Cyril Lafong which was labelled ( wrongly ) Cyp. Fasciolatum. Having spoken to Cyril during the show, we agreed it was definately a hybrid.
I showed a smaller Cyp. froschii which was beside Cyril's which only had one very large plum coloured flower and beside that a very small Ophrys."

Thanks to Alan for this clarification, I do now recall the single flowered Cyp. and the delightful little Ophrys though we do't seem to have any photos, sorry.

Alan corrected me regarding the cypripedium. His was froschii, which was next to Cyril's. Lukas Hunziker thinks it could be Cypripedium 'Ursel' [a cross between fasciolatum and henryi]? He describes it as "a vigorous multiflowered (2-3 flowers a stem) Hybrid".

Here's a pic of Cypripedium 'Ursel' http://www.w-frosch.de/Cypris/Hybriden/hybrid_e.htm

Caption for pic of Cyril Lafong at prize giving.  "Ahhh, they've bumped my cheque up to 1000. That's nice."

Nice too for me, to see a very good little Haastia. Pity its owner didn't clean the label though.

A great show Maggi and Ian, with many thanks for all this extra work, along with your judging duties. We DOOOO appreciate it. :D
