tulip identification
« on: March 20, 2020, 04:16:39 PM »
This tulip was received as Tulipa binutans - which I doubt.
So I would be glad if there is a specialist here which will be able to give me the correct name.

Gerd, could your tulip be T. tarda or T. turkestanica. Maybe the bulb would be an identification solution.

I'm not sure that it is up to date but here is an table from van Raamsdonk & de Vries (1995) about the tulipa section Biflores.
At least, it gives some keys for identification

Thank you both for your kind help. I see I have to check the bulbs in autumn. Until then I guess T. binutans isn't too wrong.
