Exciting news from Chile!
Andean botanist Ana Rosa Flores (Anita Flores Watson) has just been announced the winner of the annual ′′ Outstanding Women of Our Land ′′ for her scientific work in studying the flora of Chile - a richly deserved recognition for Anita, who is perhaps most known here for her work on Andean rosulate violas with her husband, John M. Watson. Their interest in the rosulate violas and many plant families is seen in their regular articles for The Rock Garden and International Rock Gardener.
Tremendous news of this prestigious award to Anita Flores! With such a detailed and widespread knowledge and love for the flowers of Chile this was surely an award waiting to happen for this popular botanist! Well done Anita!!
Scottish Rock Garden Club sends congratulations to Anita Flores for this honour!
