Growing really well in a trough, and flowering just too late to be at East Cheshire show - but what is it?

Idle hours spent trawling the net etc indicate it may be 'Teucrium aroanium'. JohnnyD

I think you're right, Johnny - I knew I'd seen it before - but the 'little grey cells' let me down! Nice plant  - wonder why I don't grow it?  Mind you, I know where I could find it.....https://www.pottertons.co.uk/pott/browse.php?folder=173

Good to have your vote of confidence, Johnny, mis-placed though it may be!   Can't remember the names of half the plants  we are  growing, never mind the ones we're not!

Maggi,

I doubt that any of us can remember on sight the names of 1/2 what we grow.
I grow more than 1500 species in over 400 genera.

I have 261 beds noted A-JQ skipping IA-IZ to avoid confusion.
I have all the beds drawn [not to scale] as they are placed on the property.
Each specie is given an accession # when acquired; and the numbers are placed roughly where they appear in each bed. Many numbers appear multiple times.
If a tag is lost I can almost always easily identify it, without having to remember anything.  I got the idea from Stribing Arboretum which uses the same system.
When I lived in San Francisco or Daly City, CA; I used to volunteer for them.

JonnyD,

You don't need to use that system if you don't want to; but you can work out a method that works for you. Once you find a way to keep track of what you have, you won't need to worry about lost tags.
