December 2024 in the Northern Hemisphere
« on: December 08, 2024, 07:13:12 PM »
Amana edulis is early this season, having started in November.

Fortunately Storm Darragh didn't do any major damage in the garden.
A fork was blown out of a 30-year old Metasequoia sempervirens, but the silver lining is that I could reach cones & collect seed without risking life & limb.

It´s good to learn that Darragh didn´tdo much harm in Your garden, Ashley! Obviously You are blessed with a garden large enough to house a metasequoia, nothing, I could dream of! At least, there is an Amana edulis slumbering potted in the green house. I wonder if it will deign to flower for me soon, too.

Symphoricarpos orbiculatus ´Foliis Variegatis´ is growing for more than 30 years in my garden, but never kept its leaves that long and set so many berries. I wonder if that´s due to our mild temperatures till now and the excessive rainfall of 2023 and 2024?
