Andean Tropaeolum species
« on: July 05, 2024, 08:19:14 PM »
Is there someone within the EU who grows Tropaeolum austropurpureum, T. Azureum or T. Tricolor? I would love to try them myself, but they are hard to come by these days..

Best,
Tom

Rather late on the scene, but two are offered by Chile Flora.

They are trustworthy but incredibly slow and never, ever, so far as I know, answer emails. Packet quantities are very generous and germination excellent. The main problem, apart from no contact, is the cost of shipping etc.

Hi Vinny,

I believe you are referrinf to Chileflora.  E-Mails will be answered if addressed to Michael@Chileflora, otherwise, he never sees them.

Thanks @MarcR - now altered/corrected.

I have sent various emails to Michail, which is what is on the website - does the spelling expalin why I have never had an answer and why the few people that I have spoken to about this have never had an answer either?

Hi Vinny,

In my experience, the internet tends to be VERY fussy about spelling

I just copied his email from the website....................... Michael is not recognised as in your post above.
Email addresses have to be the correct spelling, but many seem not to recognise caps and lower case.

I have spoken to a small number of people who have bought, or tried to buy, seeds from him over several years, and none have ever had any email answered.

I am unsure how many emails I sent - maybe 3-4, no answer. he owes me around $150, which I ought to try to get via charge back. (Missing seeds, no phyto' and shipped via mail rather than courier.)
I know people in Spain, Portugal and South Africa who never had answers, although some got seeds as ordered. Others would not place an order when their questions weren't answered.

I am unsure what that would prove, just that for some reason you get replies, the only person amongst several to do so.
The people who have not, have never had replies going back before there was any (enforced) requirement for phyyto's.

I'd just like my refund.
