Hello, a friend brought this seed head back from the golf course and wondered what it was...... I just KNOW I should know this, but cannot think... it has quite a stiff stem , rough to touch... mare's tail type thing?? Whole piece shown is around 15 cms.......my friend thought it had had pink flowers.... but this doesn't ring any bells with me

Another option would be: Cardamine pratensis
(either way, it's a Crucifer)

"Dame's Rocket" ? I would say "sweet" rocket...but yes, I think you are correct.... I think of that as having white flowers but of course there are pink ones, too. Thanks, Carlo!
I think the whole plant was too tall to be a Cardamine, even allowing for extension in fruit, also the seed pods are very long.

I've not heard Dame's Rocket before - I know it as Dame's Violet because of the sweet scent. That could be the seed head - I''ll look in the morning if it is still there.

Another possibility is it could be rape - another cabbage after all - particularly if it's near to farm land.
