Darren already posted his 'Marzo' but I have two different types under that name.... this first one is the correct one, I thought.... the second is something other, though it is the same as Darrens... but cannot be correct  because of  the orange trumpet....  

Maggi, at least you've got two varieties for the same money...

These are not flowering this year:

N. jonquilla
 

This is the N. jonquilla which in the older days was cultivated here and flowers very late. Here the buds are just visible now, so I think they still will flower this year with you???

I don't think there are buds to come on the jonquill but we shall see. I think mine may have  been the smaller "leftovers" of that type!

One more of mine.  N. 'Baby Moon'.  Maggi - I just looked and my N. jonquilla has four flowers coming now.  I too thought it was not going to flower, but it will!

I've got a grand display, Darren.... apart from one or two of the bagged types, I bought up the "leftovers" which were the odd ones or small ones left in the sacks after we'd divided up the bulbs into lots to sell in bags...... these were mostly daughter bulbs which had broken off and I wasn't sure if they would flower.... but they really have done well!  

I took some of the pinky ones along to the BBC the other week and they got their photo on the Beechgrove Potting Shed webpage .... most were Brian Duncan's raisings.

My N. jonquilla has now flowered, but they are misshapen and the stems are seriously virused, so I'm going to bin them.  Such a shame.
