Do you remember these pics?
Well, I have been given some seed by the man himself so if anyone would like some, let me know, with your postal address (if you've had or expect seed from me soon, I already have your address noted).
I also have some newly harvested seed of the white form of
Gentiana verna
to share.

Well that was quick. It's all gone now, except a little for Carlo if he wants it.

Lesley - Can you tell me more about those fantastic poppies? I can't seem to find the original thread. Good to see them after so much green and red lately.

They are the progeny of Dave Young (in the pic) secretary of Dunedin Hort Soc. He loves bright colours. He had these at the annual Rhododendron day sale on late October, to be used on the tables at which the DHS serves afternoon teas to the sale visitors (all proceeds going to Friends of the Bot Gardens). I and many others admired them, so last Saturday Dave turned up at the Market which I manage and presented me with a packet of seed. I could probably squeeze out a few more if you'd like them.
Incidentally, all your recent seeds are now up, or rather some in each pot. Remind me please of the name of the Dahlia? I can't find THAT thread. 2 seeds are up.

The original thread with the poppies is:
http://www.srgc.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=2510.msg59286#msg59286
they look a bit like p. nudicale
I think the dahlia thread was:

Thanks for the links, David!
Those poppies are some size, aren't they? Very cheering on a dull day!
