Forgive my rapid descent from the sublime to the ridiculous in this thread but your remark, John, reminds me that my late mother had a collection from the "In Memorium" column from the local newspaper. One of her favourites was "God took our flower, Our little Nell. He thought he too, would like a smell."

Just found this thread. I am really shocked, so unfair, so young.....
Cannot find the right words.
Luit van Delft, right in the heart of the beautiful flowerbulb district, Noordwijkerhout, Holland.

Sadly Luit died on 14th October 2016 - happily we can still enjoy his posts to the Forum

My thoughts are with Ian's wife and daughters to whom he was obviously utterly devoted.
