Hello From The Rocky Mountains, USA (Many Seeds To Swap =)
« on: September 15, 2009, 08:24:51 PM »
Good Day To All,

I live in the Great Basin just 10 miles from the base of the Rocky Mountains.
I have a wonderful collection of native seed from the wind swept ridges just
40 minutes drive from my home. There are too many seeds to list right now
but as things cool down and we begin to get rain and then snow I'll have the
time to list them (between making hypertufa troughs).

I am looking for seeds of Trifolium nanum, mat forming Penstemons,
encrusted Saxifrag species, Townsendias, mat forming Erigerons,
Eriogonums and many more.

I'm very excited to become a member of the SRGC Site and look forward to
exchanging seeds. I also look forward to exchanging informationon germination
and care of alpine plants.

Have a wonderful day! I know I will!

Warmest Regards,
James
Give me rocks, scree, crags,
alpine heights, desert heat
and a trough... it will grow.

alpinetundra, your name is well chosen, James, and the mention of wild seed from the Rocky Mountains is music to the Forum ears!  Welcome and I look forward to hearing and seeing more of your garden and surrounding habitat  :)

Wonderful to live so close to the source of many alpines. So many from the Rockies are perfectly at home in troughs too. Welcome to the Forum James.

Hi james welcome to the forum. I'm also new to this forum and rather new to rock gardening. I'm in calgary canada  80km east of the foothills. I've got several allium some that have just begun their journey from seeds so it will be awhile before they produce seeds themself. Have delosperma, a couple  alpine erigeron, aster, cacti, several sedum, bladerworth and penstemon.
What I really need to do is catalogue all my plants (about 2000 species) because after awhile i forget their latin name.
