Sowing Fritillaria

I'm about to sow some Fritillaria's from Kazakhstan (Yep, through Kurt Vickery), but at what temperature should I put them? Room? Greenhouse (minimum at 5C) or Freezer?

In their natural habitat it is starting to get very cold now. On the other hand, these plants seem to be dormant and dry during summer. How do these seeds/sporelings manage???

Sow them in pots. Leave them outside to get cold and watered. This is what they will expect in the wild.

I do exactly that. Ideally I would like to sow then by October - you are still just inside the window for best results- and leave the seed pots outside to take the weather.
When they germinate I will then give them some cover to prevent damage from the wind, snow and rain.

These Asian species do like a dry summer when they are mature but small seedlings can desiccate easily so avoid excessive dry heat. Let them dry out but give them a bit of shade under glass and they should do well.

Many are good in our garden when mature.
