Geranium orientalitibeticum

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how long it takes Geranium orientalitibeticum to flower from seed.

Good question. Most people would ask when will it flower? It's quite a poor flowerer. You will have acres of leaves and not enough flowers

It also seems to ramble around a fair bit.

Helen it grows from small tubers that form strings like beads. Each one that breaks off forms a new plant. You could contain it in a plunged pot.

Mark, are you saying it is invasive? ( thinking onion weed here)
I doubt  it could be worse than a magenta sanguineum I have ( inherited it with the house)
At this stage the seedlings don't even have a true leaf.

Lori, I saw a pic of yours on the NARGS website, how much bigger is the plant now?
In your opinion is the plant worth having?

It flowers well with me. It is not a weed, but a good ground cover for light shade.

Most geranium flowers the second year from seed. I have not sown mine so I do not know for how long time this use.

Anne, your photo is lovely. It is very good to hear your plant flowers well and is well behaved.

I meant to say that the G.Aristatum seed I got from you last year, one of the seedlings has already flowered.

If you raise the plants inside, you can be lucky and get flowers the first year. But the most common is the second year.
Aristatum is a pretty Geranium and I wish you good luck with it.
