louvres
« on: January 20, 2010, 04:43:08 PM »
Tomorrow I'm going to take out my louvres in the green house to turn them around. I was thinking of adding more on each side. This would give me 8. Four on each side. My green house 6 panes on each side. Is this OK or should I put a louvre in alternate panes?

It depends on the type of fitting, you will have to try it and see.

Diane I have extra long bolts so one louvre frame will fit on top the ones beside it

another question that I should have asked before installing the louvres.

What is the silver roll of tape for?

The silver tape is to cover the exposed, long edges of the glass. This is to protect the edge of the glass from chipping and you protect your fingers from any sharpness. Remember the chap at the sawill demonstrating to the Health and Safety officer how he lost the end of a finger in a saw?

Boys and girls you could have said the louvres were in the correct way. Now I have to turn the around again. Here's a photo from the leaflet in a louvre box I never installed

I never accept glass that hasn't had its edges sanded. My friend at Boss Aquariums now uses a new type of glass that is not black when looked at edgeways. All his glass is sanded smooth before using in fish tanks.
