Dactylorhiza off Ebay
« on: September 11, 2010, 11:42:37 AM »
I know a fool and his money are easily parted ...

I bought Dactylorhiza Cruickshanks dark leaf off Ebay because it was very similar to those I have seen on the forum. edited - I shouldnt out the person publicly but if you want to know who email me.

The plant he supplied was so small I took a comparison photo of his and my Dactylorhiza Cruickshanks dark leaf. I had just removed the tuber from my plant. Time will tell if it is " ..... one (1) flowering size tuber of this rarely offered Dact ....."

I contacted him but he chose not to reply.

Mark I realise you are disappointed, it would be interesting to know how much you paid.

On the plus side it is only one season of flowering and hopefully if true you will eventually be pleased with it.

It is possible to get a small fower from even a tiny Dact. tuber..... the flower spikes, as the tubers, get bigger as the years progress. I wouldn't rule out a wee flower from that one..... Be  lucky!

It's my biggest bug bear with buying off Ebay,a ruler in the pic to show the actual size wouldn't go amiss. But then again they wouldn't fetch half the money i suppose now to put my claws away,Mark I'm sure the Dacty will reach the size of your others in no time, you certainly grow them better than i do.

Mark I have bought a bulb on ebay and when I opened my parcel I got surprised, I have never seen such a tiny bulb and I think they charged me £4.80 for postage which I couldn't believe.
One thing when I pot up this bulb I will need my glasses and a magnifying glass to see it.
