and Jamus I haven't forgotten the fritillaria I promised you, I have just been discharged from hospital after a major operation and will post them to you as soon as I get back on my feet.(soon)

Hi John, I didn't know you'd been in hospital! I hope you get better soon. Absolutely no rush for the Frit. I'm working on my woodland garden trying to whip it into shape at the moment to make space for such things. Were the seed from Fermi PCIs? He gave me a bunch and they are all growing strongly. I too am hoping for flowers this year.

Hi Jamus,
some of the seed from Fermi were PCI's there were also some Babiana and Spuria Iris and a few DBI's also a couple of other flower seeds almost 98% have germinated and are growing nicely. The Babiana have gone into dormancy but I am expecting a few flower from them come Spring time. I sent to South Australia yesterday for some Tigridia Vanhouttei seeds, should be interesting have you tried these. Cheers John.

I grew some from AGS seed some years ago - lovely things and attractive to an extraordinary range of flies! Sadly lost in my usual slapdash fashion...

Oh Wow! Tigridia vanhouttei is lovely! That's new to me.. it's patterned like an onco. I love it. Who in South Australia coveted those John?

Not Gail but it does OK in the ground here. Doesn't produce much seed and the growth habit is a little untidy - not as attractive as pavonia's or orthantha.

Thanks for that information Rob, I will try them in the ground when they are big enough to transplant and maybe just one or two in a pot as a back up just in case.
Hi Jamus would you believe I found them on E Bay while looking for something else, ten seeds in a packet for $7.50 so I ordered two packets (free postage).
According to his website he has only one packet left for sale.

It was in a pot - and left out unprotected one winter which is why it is no more sadly...
T. pavonia planted deep in the garden often come through.
