FREE to good home - AGS bulletins No131 (Mar 1963) - No317 (Sep 2009) complete run. Help! I need the shelf space, but you will need to collect from me (between Wetherby and York) or I could deliver if not too far.

Desperate for space for new books, and sad to say, none looked at for years. Maybe someone else can get more out of them, they're wasted here.

I know how you feel Anne. I haven't looked at mine either for ages, especially the black and white ones, except for an occasional reference. But I feel that I may do, some day. Perhaps they'll have to be buried with me. ???

Maybe if you get enough and they fall off the shelf you'll be buried BY them.  ;D ;D
Cheers.

Anne, does AGS have all their bulletins on cd?
If so, that would make it easier to lose the books and cds could live in a box.

I don't think so, but I'm not sure. A cumulative index would be good.

..... does AGS have all their bulletins on cd?

The AGS has made two CDs of early Bulletins which were sent out to members in recent years. They are only of a few issues ofthe bulletins, not them all, I think. The second one never arrived here, nor with a few folks I know. When my chum Helen wrote to request one she did not receive a reply.

There is, however, an index to all the AGS bulletins, it is online on their website: http://www.alpinegardensociety.net/publications/Alpine-Gardener/cumulative-index/

I received the 2nd CD but not the first. :'(

Martin, I'm not sure a funeral pyre would work. We've had so much drought in recent years that we may not light fires outside without a city council permit and I don't know how they'd view burning a body. It would be embarrassing if inspectors arrived half way through the process and required it to be extinguished. :-[

Now that Anne has found a home for her AGS journals, and before this thread goes cold, I have on offer, free to good home and for collection American Rock Garden Club bulletins from Spring 1989- present.  Also AGS journals going back to March, 1958. I want to keep the more recent ones.  Haven't decided on a cut-off date yet, but probably the last 5-10 years.  I realise with them now being on CD, there may be no takers, and living where I do, that is going to limit the interest even further!
