Is this the correct Erysium I had delivered?
« on: March 03, 2011, 01:57:02 PM »
I had an Erysium 'Jacobs Coat' delivered to me along with about 50 others different plants. I thought it was a variegated foliage kind. The chances are I am wrong and its a tri-colour flower maybe? Is the variegated one E. linifolium 'Variegata’  that I am confusing it with.

Thanks all!

There's a very nice Cheiranthus (often called Erysimum) mutablis 'Variegata' which is well worth growing both for its changing coloured flowers, similar to those of 'Jabob's Jacket' and for its well and evenly variegated foliage. I wouldn't be without it. It would normally be doing a second flowering now, late summer but it was totally eaten to the ground by a bunny so is doing new foliage instead. I'll trim out that lower right bit with little chlorophyll in it, to keep the variegation even.

Yes, it's quick and easy - and true of course - from cuttings.
