Not all is as it seems.
I can tell you that one of the contestants who had salad had it as an accompaniment to two large chunks of chicken (chicken salad you see!), two large pieces of garlic bread and a substantial bowl of chips!

I see from a rather belated look at the AGS site that Martin R had the most points in the Open section, well done indeed....amazing what all those Lewisias can do to a points score.
Also many congrats to the Farrer for Robin Pickering...I assume is the same plant that he had at Cleveland where I thought was a fantastic potful but could not go up for the premier award as was placed second behind a C calceolus...I am aware there was considerable discussion among the judges who judged the class and two went for the the species plant and not the hybrid...its the way showing goes sometimes....I am glad that Robins specimen held on for another week to get its full credit.
