Gentianella
« on: August 22, 2007, 06:19:36 PM »
These fotos come from West Tatras in Carpathian mountains. Plants have been tentatively identified as Gentianella austriaca, but calyx segments seen to reach too far up :) Any thoughts on what could this be?

Three next photos show a slightly different plant. A hybrid perhaps? Or is this a variable species?

Regards, Barbara.

I am not able to help with the ID of these Gentian/ellas, Barbara, but I very much welcome the chance to see photos of plants in the West Tatras... it is most interesting to see the plants in their wild homes.

Me too Maggi. It would be nice if Ewelina would return to us. She has been very quiet of late.
