SRGC Trip to the Dolomites
« on: July 10, 2011, 08:38:51 PM »
I spent a glorious 10 days in Selva, Val Gardena, in the Dolomites with another 12 SRGC members from 18 to 27 June.  The trip was led by fellow member, Julia Corden who took us to see an amazing number of beautiful plants and stunning meadows, some of which I show below.  It was a great holiday - beautiful mountains and plants - but best of all was the company.  We had our own table in an annex off the main dining room which was just as well for we were so noisy in the evenings chatting about where we'd been and what we'd seen - with lots of laughter and banter.  I made lots of new friends and can't wait to meet up with them again over the next year.

Meadow on descent from Sellajoch - pink haze is Primula farinosa
Ranunculus keupferi
Ranunculus seguieri
Eritrichium nanum
Gentiana terglovensis
Androsace hausmannii
Cypripedium calceolus
Paris quadrifolia

I'd have felt happy to have a trip that only showed me that meadow with the Trollius and the Primula and that super clump of Paris... anything else is just a bonus.... no wonder you had such a wonderful holiday! :)
