Pat , 'A Guide to Species Irises ' has been my Iris Bible too since 1997 . ,when it was up to date . There was no photo available then of I stocksii etc. -but it does feature photos of some more obscure species taken in the wild like: wendelboi, platytera, drepanophylla. microglossa , carterorum, tianschanica, polysticta, heweri. It is not as scholarly written and illustrated with beautyful botanical paintings as R. Dykes 'The Genus Iris' 1913 ( which I treasure ) but it is still very good . .
